The Lattes CV System, in its online and offline versions, is a component of the Lattes Platform developed for the CNPq, and used by the MCT [Science and Technology Ministry], FINEP [Projects and Studies Financing], CAPES/MEC [Personal Improvement Coordination/Ministry of Education], and all institutional actors, such as the Brazilian scientific community, as a curricular information system.

In order to fully achieve these goals, CNPq has decided that, from 2002 on, all research, master’s and doctor’s degrees, and scientific initiation scholarship students, credentialed counselors and other clients of the Counsel shall have, compulsorily, one Lattes curriculum enrolled with the CNPq. The non-existence of a curriculum will cause impediments to payments and renewals. The curriculum shall also be mandatory, from 2002 on, to all researchers and students participating in the Research Groups Directory in Brazil (version 5.0). The electronic forms or systems of the Lattes curriculum are available in this website on a permanent basis. At any moment the persons interested (scholarship students, researchers and students) may create or update their curricula and send them to the CNPq.
